Leading provider of differentiated paper and packaging solutions, Westrock MPS is currently ISO 9001:2015 (Quality), ISO 14001:2015 (Environmental) and OHSAS 18001 (Health and Safety) Certificated, with plans in the very near future to update their Health and Safety Management System to meet the requirements of ISO 45001:2018.

The organisation is committed to the continual improvement of their Integrated Management System and understands that as a requirement of the ISO series of standards they must carry out internal audits to effectively maintain their system.

To improve efficiency in auditing and employ a simplified approach to the management of the organisation’s IMS, Westrock MPS engaged Quadra to deliver an IMS Internal Auditor course covering the requirements of ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018.  Furthermore, the organisation is aware that internal audit techniques under the requirements of the newest versions of the Standards, in line with the new Annex SL structure, are markedly different to those employed within the maintenance of the old Standards. Therefore, to ensure staff members are equipped with the skills and knowledge to carry out internal audits against the requirements of the new Standards the organisation understood that it was essential to re-train their auditors.

Regarding the bespoke IMS Internal Auditor training Westrock MPS’s IMS, Quality Systems Coordinator, Christine Simms commented;

“Our Quality, Environmental and Health and Safety management systems help to effectively and efficiently achieve our organisation’s objectives and deliver sustained business success and continue to form a key part of our day to day operations.  The IMS Internal Auditor training carried out by Quadra allowed us to re-train our auditors against the requirements of the newest versions of the standards, ensuring that we continue to undertake efficient, streamlined audits, focused on continual improvement.  The training was practical, hands-on, focused on our existing business processes and a real success with the whole team.”

The course content was tailored specifically to their processes and learning objectives, ensuring the individual requirements of the organisation were met.  The training was delivered in-house at the company’s site in Newtownabbey which allowed our expert, IRCA Approved trainer to facilitate live auditing exercises developed specifically for the organisation.
